Hey! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Alessandro Menduni, and I have one goal: help you craft compelling online experiences for your users, so that your brand can stand out from the crowd.
I want to let you in on a secret: today, if you are not moving towards a Web-first business model, you are missing out.
The Web is amazing. It's the widest and most approachable distribution channel of the world, almost anyone on the planet can be reached through the Web, and online is where the global market is moving.
Businesses all over the world have started to realize that the Web presents unique opportunities in terms of reach, engagement and conversions. Global marketplaces like Flipkart and AliExpress have seen tremendous returns by shifting to a Web-first model; Twitter has just recently bet on the mobile Web by rewriting entirely their Web App and has reported interesting early results; Pinterest, BBC, Financial Times are all focusing on the experience they are providing on the Web and are seeing engagement and conversions sky rocket. So what does this have to do with you and me?
For you, this can be both a wake up call and an opportunity: starting today, you can begin to think about how your business can jump on the train.
Now why should you listen to me?
Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a Front-End Developer and Consultant, and I am passionate about Web Performance.
A few years ago, I graduated in Software Engineering in Italy and in Communication System Security in France. Fast forward 6 months and I was helping with the UX of the products of a software company in Paris.
It was during that time that I realized that my engineering and highly technical background, and my passion for crafting a great User Experience, could fit together wonderfully.
You see, in order to be really effective when building snappy and fast experiences, one needs to be very skilled in Computer Science, and passionate about what the end user would ultimately feel.
From that moment on to this day, I spend most of my time navigating the deep seas of Web Performance, auditing sites and building Web Apps.
